My friend Brent Stirton is an extraordinary documentary photographer. One of his latest pieces, “God’s Ivory” is the result of a three-year research project. It talks about how religious icons allow the ivory poaching trade to exist and covers the slaughter of these amazing animals to satisfy religious, and criminal need. The photographs are awe inspiringly powerful and I encourage you to share this story. A piece covering the work is also up for a Webby if you’d like to vote and spread the word.
