I’ve been having a hard time concentrating on anything but work this week due to that fact that I’ve been working on a project that was supposed to have been taken care of weeks ago, but when it launched on Monday, the vendor was so far behind and had made so many mistakes that it has taken the better part of my week for us to fix it.

This brings me to pet peeve # 375966: people who don’t keep their word. It’s really easy, you know. You say you’re going to do something, and then you do it. Million of us manage that. And what’s more, when you don’t keep your word, let me know in an honest, trustworthy way, that you dropped the ball. I can’t say that all would be forgiven, but I’d feel a lot less like you’d suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Bottom line: I’m contract bound now, with clauses up the kazoo to make sure people will hit deadlines. And in my personal life, I think I’m adopting a two strikes and you’re out policy. Or, you could just keep your word!
